Kobe Bryant’s Death

N.B.A. Superstar Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter and seven others died in a helicopter crash on Sunday, Jan. 26 in Calabasas, Ca. 

The morning of Jan. 26 was foggy, so the helicopter wasn’t clear for takeoff. However, Bryant, who always took a helicopter around Los Angeles to avoid the terrible traffic, wanted to fly for his daughter anyway. Kobe . After the news was announced, it affected many players. For the next couple of days each NBA team started the game off with a 24 second violation. Many tears were shed during these emotional 24 seconds. 

Lebron James posted on his instagram, “Man I sitting here trying to write something for this post but every time I try I begin crying again just thinking about you…I’m heartbroken and devastated my brother!!”

Bryant spent 20 years in the N.B.A with the Los Angeles Lakers and led the Lakers in all time scoring with 33,643 points. He also went on to win five NBA championships, was an 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team, was named the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player, and was a two-time NBA Finals MVP winner.

Kobe was a talented player who respected everyone in his path. He will never be forgotten. Rest-in-peace Kobe, Gianna, and the seven others who lost their lives in this tragedy.
